Ingenious1. Cover yourself in a suit of gaffa tape, stciky side out, and request the masses of the Royal Mile pelt you with any spare coppers. You will make a mint and also be indistinguishable from the hoards of quirky' performers peddling their shows. 2. Come see Killing Alan money well spent, an investment you certainly won't regret. And cheaper than an umbrella if it's raining (well cheaper than one of those big golfing ones, with multicoloured stripes and the ability to decapitate other pedestrians).

Money saving tipsTheft would be an oiuobvs answer, but not often an oiuobvs solution.Abstinence comes next, closely followed by common sense. This may make it seem like the kind of festival that only Oliver Cromwell would enjoy and would probably be about as much fun as that sounds. But there are things to do for free. Comps are a bonus, but I'm particularly looking forward to walking up Arthur's Seat for no extra expense, unless I have an accident which my 17th century medical knowledge and budget can't cover.Edinburgh is a beautiful city and just visiting it can be its own reward. It can be fun too but do keep an eye on those purse strings . Good luck.

Hello Dave,Yes, I agree with you when you say that Carrefour pays more attention to qtluiay. First of all it offers a better shopping experience : huge super market with plenty of space to go and inspect a product without having few other shoppers on your back. Not to mention plenty of space to park your car, which in Lidl is a big problem. Second, big variety of products you can find almost everything and also for the same item you can find few options which cover different budgets.I am not saying that Carrefour is perfect but at least if you go shopping there you can cover your shopping list in most of the cases unlike at Lidl where you find cheaper things, but you are very limited.Since I wrote the article I have to admit that I went again twice (if I remember well) and for the things I bought I have to agree that I paid a bit less. However, Lidl is only worth visiting if you will buy the offers , otherwise it's not cheaper that the rest of the shops. For the regular products which you can find in the already existing super markets, prices are the same.I will probably continue to visit Lidl from time to time, but Carrefour is still a good destination to complete the weekly shopping list.Hope that in time Lidl will open at least another shop in Limassol as one (and very small) is not enough for city the size of Limassol. At the end of the day, a healthy competition between super markets is a good things and should bring benefits for the buyers.
